Iryo contradicts Puente's version and claims that its driver did not receive an order to resume movement before the accident
The Iryo train involved in the Urda accident did not resume operations due to a reset instruction from Adif's control center after a safety system failure. Iryo sources stated they were in the process of resetting, which takes several minutes, and had no authorization to proceed. Transport Minister Óscar Puente mentioned orders for some halted trains to continue, but Iryo claimed they never received such orders. Meanwhile, the AVE train that collided was instructed to resume normal speed. Iryo reported the LZB system failure at 8:38 AM and was coordinating with the control center. Contradictory accounts emerged regarding communications between Iryo and the control center, with Adif stating Iryo was instructed to resume normal operations shortly before the accident.
