Isabella (9) wins first Junior Flavor Maker competition with pumpkin pie in Roeselare

Isabella Macias-Declercq, aged 9, won the first Junior Smaakmaker competition in Roeselare with her pumpkin pie featuring Greek yogurt. The event, held during the Week of Taste, paired ten young chefs with an adult to create desserts. The jury, including Mayor Kris Declercq, praised all entries, highlighting Isabella's unique use of vegetables in dessert. She chose a Spanish recipe inspired by her father's time in Spain, adding a personal touch to her dish. Isabella received a nightlight as a prize, while her family showcased their culinary skills, with her sister Paulina and father Camillo finishing third.
