The Starlink satellite system is operational again in Ukraine
The Starlink satellite system, including its military variant Starshield, has resumed operations in Ukraine after over a week of disruptions. These outages had previously hindered military operations and increased tensions with the U.S. Issues arose following Donald Trump's announcement regarding a deal for Russian gas oil purchases, urging Ukraine to cease attacks on Russian refineries. Ukrainian officials noted that the restrictions impeded the army's ability to intercept Russian attack drones and forced the cancellation of some operations. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry confirmed the restoration of Starlink/Starshield's operational speed, but did not disclose the maximum operational capacity or whether full service has been restored.
