An investigation is again underway into the murder of Pasolini 51 years ago
The Roman prosecutor's office has reopened the investigation into the murder of Italian filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini, following new evidence suggesting the alleged perpetrator was not alone during the crime. Lawyer Stefano Maccioni's request highlights recently discovered archival footage and other evidence. Maccioni encourages anyone with relevant information to come forward. This is not the first time the investigation has been reopened, as previous requests in 2016 and 2023 were denied. Pasolini was brutally murdered in Rome in 1975 at the age of 53. The 17-year-old Pino Pelosi was found driving Pasolini's car the day after the murder and was sentenced to 30 years in prison, later retracting his confession, claiming he was under pressure. Interestingly, the initial ruling acknowledged he was not the only perpetrator, but this was later dismissed by the appellate court due to lack of evidence.
