Israel has decided in the elections. The exit poll results are in.
In the Israeli parliamentary elections, no clear winner emerged. Likud, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, likely received the most votes, but neither the ruling nor opposition bloc secured a parliamentary majority. Exit polls from three Israeli TV stations indicate that Netanyahu's opponents, led by Gadi Eisenkot, may gain 52-53 seats in the 120-member Knesset, while Netanyahu's camp is projected to secure around 50 seats. A majority of 61 seats is needed to form a government, suggesting lengthy coalition negotiations ahead. Voter turnout reached 74.3%, the highest for this time since 1988. President Isaac Herzog will assign the task of forming a government to the politician deemed most capable of building a coalition.
