Israeli elections: Tel Aviv stock exchange falls, shekel weakens
The Tel Aviv stock exchange has declined since the partial results of the Israeli elections were announced, with the shekel weakening significantly. The TA-90 index dropped by 4.3%, the TA-125 by 3%, and the TA-35 by 2.7%. Most seats in the new parliament are projected to be held by Netanyahu's party. Selling pressure is mainly on financial and real estate stocks, with significant declines in banking and insurance indices. Some stocks, like Palo Alto Networks, saw increases. The shekel weakened against the dollar and euro following the election exit polls and actual vote counting. The dollar's exchange rate may also be affected by upcoming fuel price hikes, with predictions of significant increases.
