Javier Moreno, award-winning imitator of bird songs: "It will be hard for me to surpass the goldfinch"

Javier Moreno, a biologist from Catalonia, won the first bird song imitation contest at the Delta Birding Festival. He received mid-range binoculars as a prize and expressed joy over the recognition from fellow birdwatchers. Moreno emphasized that practice is key to mastering bird calls and noted the shift from capturing birds to observing them in their natural habitat. He shared his adventurous experiences in the field, including a near-death incident in Ecuador. Moreno encourages birdwatching as a rewarding hobby and highlights the importance of understanding bird communication. He aims to improve his imitation skills for future competitions.
