There is a compromise in the EU regarding the rules for farmers after 2027. The issue of money is yet to be agreed upon.
The EU support will focus more on active farmers, with member states defining eligibility. Increased support is planned for young farmers, requiring strategies for generational change in agriculture. Poland agreed to a compromise regarding the DNSH principle, ensuring EU-funded investments do not harm the environment. Poland and several other countries sought exemptions for agricultural investments to facilitate access to EU funds for modernization and fossil fuel machinery. Minister Stefan Krajewski acknowledged the compromise does not fully meet Polish expectations but agreed to a partial approach. The EU Council's position will guide negotiations with the European Parliament, with separate discussions on funding.
