There is a breakthrough in the maternity ward issue. These departments will receive permanent funding
The Polish Deputy Minister of Health, Tomasz Maciejewski, announced plans for fixed funding for maternity wards that do not meet the annual threshold of 700 births. This initiative aims to address geographical accessibility and demographic needs, ensuring that essential maternity and pediatric departments remain operational even with fewer hospitalizations. The new funding model is set to be implemented by January 2027, focusing on areas where access to healthcare would be challenging for women and children.
