There is a reaction from the Italian government to the carriers' protests. Meloni promises support

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced a new agreement to provide additional funding for the transport sector, amounting to 106 million euros. This is in addition to 434 million euros previously allocated. The government is also implementing urgent measures to support transport, agriculture, and fisheries. Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida stated that 60 million euros will be distributed to farmers to cover fuel costs, allowing for the purchase of approximately 121 million liters of agricultural fuel. The ongoing protests by transporters have caused significant disruptions in southern Italy, leading to food shortages and fuel issues at airports. Authorities are urging protesters to end their actions to facilitate deliveries to hospitals.
