The 15 percent corporate tax is coming, the bill has been submitted
The government has submitted a bill to increase the corporate tax rate for large companies from 9% to 15% starting January 1, 2027. This change aims to align with the global minimum tax framework. Companies with revenues exceeding 500 million euros in 2025 will be affected, with 123 Hungarian firms qualifying for the higher rate. The bill also includes the termination of tax support for sports organizations, replaced by direct state funding, and an increase in the innovation contribution from 0.3% to 0.5% of the tax base. Other measures confirmed include maintaining the bank tax and increasing the limit for tax-free transfers.
