Young suspects arrested during riots after anti-asylum center protest in Opheusden

Two individuals were arrested during a demonstration against an asylum center in Opheusden, which escalated into unrest. The protest initially started peacefully but later involved heavy fireworks. The Mobile Unit was deployed to disperse the crowd. Approximately 200 people gathered at the town hall, where a far-right group spoke. This follows previous anti-asylum protests in the area that also resulted in arrests. The municipality of Neder-Betuwe is required to accommodate 132 asylum seekers under the Distribution Act.
