Young people can 'hang out' this winter in the old library of Ghent: city opens warm meeting place at Zuid
This winter, the old city library in Gent will serve as a meeting place for youth, responding to requests from the Youth Council. Students can eat their lunches and organize activities there, with youth workers present. The initiative aims to provide a safe and warm environment for young people, especially after the closure of a nearby shopping complex. The city has also implemented measures to address ongoing disturbances in the area. The library will be open from December 11, 2026, to March 29, 2027, offering a space for relaxation and socializing without the need to purchase anything.
