Next week, decisions will be made about the chief prosecutor and Christmas Eve.
Next week, the Tisza Party's proposal to declare Christmas Eve a public holiday will be voted on. The proposal, submitted by three representatives, aims to ensure a peaceful celebration on December 24, with most shops closed. If approved, this year’s Christmas Eve will be a public holiday. The KDNP has also supported this initiative, viewing it as a victory. Additionally, the parliament will decide on a new chief prosecutor following the resignation of Nagy Gábor Bálint. Baka András nominated Szathmáry Zoltán, but the Tisza faction opposed him. The president has maintained his nomination despite calls for a new candidate, leading to the nomination of Fejes Péter after the parliament rejected the initial choice. The urgency of appointing a new chief prosecutor is heightened as the current deputy will retire soon, risking a leadership crisis.
