Next year, those who do not clean up dog waste in District I can expect a fine.
On October 22, the local council of District I modified community living rules, requiring dog owners to carry water for cleaning urine in addition to waste collection tools. Mayor László Böröcz announced that a majority of residents supported stricter cleanliness measures, including handling dog urine. The new regulation will take effect on November 21, with the municipality providing waste bags and public water taps to assist dog owners. Compliance will be monitored by public area inspectors, who will check for the required equipment. A grace period until the end of the year will allow for warnings before fines are imposed next year.
