Géza Kaáli: The nationalization by Orbán's government was a failure, I am ready to establish a new IVF institute
Since January 2020, the Hungarian government has nationalized private fertility clinics, spending at least 15 billion HUF on acquisitions. In 2022, a law prohibited smaller private clinics from operating. The transition to a state-run system, including free treatments and expensive medications, has cost taxpayers over 100 billion HUF in six years. However, the results have been disappointing, leading to a wasteful system with declining outcomes, according to Géza Kaáli.
