The House wants to implement a cheaper public transport subscription: the cabinet must make a plan

Last summer, a monthly train subscription for 49 euros was introduced, attracting around 400,000 users. PRO proposed a 'Nederlandticket' for cheaper travel across various transport modes, which the government initially supported. They now seek to extend this subscription beyond summer and include buses and trams. A motion to prepare this was backed by several parties, including coalition members. PRO's Habtamu de Hoop emphasized the importance of affordable public transport. State Secretary Annet Bertram expressed openness to the idea but noted financial complexities and the need for discussions with transport providers.
