István Kapitány: Applications have been submitted for the construction of nearly 2300 megawatts of new wind power plants

Hungary received applications for nearly 2300 megawatts of new wind power projects, announced Minister István Kapitány. The call, which closed on October 30, attracted 46 submissions from 37 investors, with the potential for about 700 megawatts of new capacity to connect to the grid in the first round. Evaluation of the applications is underway, with initial results expected by mid-December. The Ministry of Energy conducted a national market survey to assess the connection needs for wind developments and the readiness of proposed projects. The government's initiative aims to enhance Hungary's attractiveness for wind energy investments, especially compared to Austria's regulations.
