Captain István: An investigation has been launched regarding the 475 billion of the Kisfaludy Program
An investigation has been initiated regarding the Kisfaludy Program, following a report involving 475 billion HUF, as announced by Minister István Kapitány. He emphasized the need for accountability concerning public funds and stated that those who misused them must face consequences. The report, filed on October 16, cited suspicions of mismanagement and anti-competitive agreements linked to nearly 23,000 contracts. Kapitány alleged that a significant portion of the state support benefited close associates of the Orbán government, specifically naming Lőrinc Mészáros and Sándor Pintér. Previous reports indicated that between 2018 and 2022, the Hungarian Tourism Agency allocated 316.8 billion HUF through the Kisfaludy Program, with two-thirds of the tourism support going to a mere half percent of applicants.
