András Kármán: Having children and social security status is not a prerequisite for a home loan
András Kármán discussed changes in housing loans, stating that there will be no childbearing or social security requirements for applicants, allowing expatriates to apply. The housing loan program will maintain area restrictions and will not support luxury property purchases. The Wekerle+ program favors new homes with fixed interest rates of 3% for new and 5% for used properties. Certain conditions will exclude applicants with over 50% ownership in a property, unless valued under 30 million HUF. Buyers must move into the purchased property and reside there for at least five years without renting it out. The value limits remain at 100 million HUF for apartments and 150 million HUF for family houses, with a price per square meter threshold of 1.5 million HUF, subject to future indexing.
