András Kármán announced stricter measures in the debate on the law concerning the protection of state assets
Dóra Dúró opened the debate on a bill aimed at protecting state assets and financing. Finance Minister András Kármán stated that the amendments seek to prevent the outflow of public funds and enhance transparency in state financing. The measures focus on regulating private equity funds, reviewing the operations of MFB and Eximbank, and concluding the integration of savings cooperatives. Kármán noted that private equity funds have become breeding grounds for abuses, and the legal changes will eliminate previous structures that hindered the state's ability to assert its interests despite majority ownership. The bill allows for the removal of fund managers if at least 60% of investors initiate it, with the central bank appointing a new manager if the current one fails to comply within 20 days.
