The mayor of Zugló reported to the GVH due to suspicion of cartelization
The mayor of Zugló, András Rózsa, reported suspected cartel behavior to the Hungarian Competition Authority regarding green area maintenance companies. He noted that all bids for a tree care contract came from the same six companies, which have consistently won similar tenders in Budapest. Rózsa highlighted potential collusion due to ownership ties between the top two bidders. He emphasized that while there are no concerns about the winning company's qualifications, the situation raises questions about fair competition, ultimately affecting local residents. The mayor stated that the GVH is responsible for investigating the matter and that the procurement law mandates contracting the best offer, which would still come from the same group if the winner were excluded.
