The mayor of Zugló reported to the competition authority on suspicion of cartelization
András Rózsa, the mayor of Zugló, reported suspected collusion among companies involved in green area maintenance to the Competition Authority. He noted that all bids for a tree care contract came from the same six companies, which have consistently won similar tenders since 2024. Rózsa highlighted potential collusion due to ownership ties between the top two bidders but confirmed no concerns about the winning company's qualifications. He emphasized that if collusion exists, it ultimately affects local residents financially. The mayor stated that they must contract the best offer, and excluding the winner would lead to delays in tree care, posing environmental and safety risks.
