Train disaster in Spain. The first hypothesis regarding the accident has emerged.

A train collision in Spain resulted from a communication failure between computers, leading to a green light signal despite a red one. The incident, which occurred near Urda in Toledo, claimed at least 64 lives. Minister of Transport Oscar Puente reported that a malfunction in the safety system caused trains to stop automatically. After the failure, traffic management was taken over by Adif's control center, which mistakenly allowed a Renfe train to proceed despite a red signal. The Renfe train collided with a stationary Iryo train, resulting in significant casualties and injuries. Emergency services confirmed the death toll and initiated support procedures for victims and their families.
