"Each of these victims thought the same way." 49 coffins during an extraordinary funeral
On Wednesday, a funeral ceremony was held for 49 soldiers and activists of the Polish independence underground at the Osobowice Cemetery in Wrocław. Their remains, victims of the communist regime, were buried in a newly established military section. President Karol Nawrocki emphasized the importance of remembering these national heroes who fought for Poland's freedom and sovereignty. He highlighted the ongoing struggle against the communist system, which has caused immense suffering worldwide. The ceremony honored the sacrifices of those who remained loyal to their oath after 1945, continuing the fight for a free Poland. The remains were discovered during exhumation work by the IPN, revealing the hidden graves of anti-communist fighters.
