Two new institutes will be separated from the National Public Health and Medical Officer Service
In November, the National Public Health Institute (ONI) and the National Institute of Pharmacy (OGYI) will be established, separating from the National Public Health and Pharmacy Center (NNGYK). Both institutes will operate as successors to NNGYK, maintaining ongoing responsibilities and client rights. The ONI will be led by the national chief medical officer, focusing on public health programs, health oversight, epidemic management, and clinical trials. The OGYI will have its own director and will primarily handle pharmaceutical issues. In 2024, 279 deaths were linked to CDI, a hospital infection, prompting significant professional dialogue that could benefit patients.
