The majority has left the Fidesz faction in Győr
The Fidesz-KDNP party lost its majority in the Győr city council after a faction split, with eight members forming a new group called Csak Győr. This includes notable figures like Tímea Laczkovics-Takács and András Fűzy. Two KDNP representatives also left to create their own faction. Remaining members include former mayor Csaba Dézsi and Fekete Dávid. Fűzy stated that the split reflects a desire for local patriotism and clarified that those who left also lost their party membership. He emphasized that the new faction will engage in constructive debates and may not always align with Fidesz. Győr is currently led by independent mayor Bence Pintér, while Fidesz retains a majority in the council.
