"Another year, another record". WMO's alarming report
The World Meteorological Organization reported record levels of carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide in 2025, driven by human activities. The concentration of CO2 reached 426.8 ppm, 153% above pre-industrial levels, while methane and nitrous oxide also saw significant increases. Experts warn that these gases are contributing to extreme weather events and climate change, with no signs of reduction in CO2 levels expected. The last 11 years have been the warmest on record, indicating long-term climate impacts.
