Comment by Donald Tusk. "This requires decisive action"
The President of the Constitutional Tribunal, Bogdan Święczkowski, and his deputy, Bartłomiej Sochański, have been suspended for one month. General Prosecutor Waldemar Żurek has filed motions to lift their immunities. Judge Anna Korwin-Piotrowska, the longest-serving judge, has taken over the president's duties. Police are present outside the Tribunal amid protests against the government, including from PiS members. Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on the situation, emphasizing the need to restore the rule of law after years of lawlessness under the previous government.
