End of the referendum in Częstochowa. Voting was held on the dismissal of the city authorities

The recent referendum in Częstochowa aimed to decide on the removal of Mayor Krzysztof Matyjaszczyk, who faces corruption charges. Voting proceeded without major incidents, although some complaints about signage were noted. The required turnout for the referendum to be valid is approximately 46,625 residents. Matyjaszczyk has been mayor for 16 years and was suspended following his arrest by the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau. His administration has been criticized for nepotism and city debt, while city officials argue that Częstochowa's debt is manageable compared to other cities. Results are expected soon after the voting concluded.
