No more climbing stairs. A major stop will be rebuilt

The Raków station in Warsaw is set for modernization due to its outdated facilities. Current platforms are low, narrow, and damaged, lacking direct ground-level access across the tracks. Passengers must use a bridge with stairs, posing challenges for those with disabilities, seniors, and parents with strollers. Planned upgrades include new, wider, and higher platforms, elevators connecting to bus stops, and a ground-level crossing for easier access. Bicycle infrastructure will also improve with a new crossing linked to nearby bike paths. The Warsaw Commuter Railway is seeking a designer for the project, with bids due by November 12. This initiative aims to eliminate architectural barriers and enhance accessibility in the area.
