Horribly expensive war. American taxpayers are spending billions

Recent Pentagon estimates highlight that operational costs for military actions are significant, with $29 billion needed to replenish ammunition stocks. Additionally, over $6 billion is allocated for replacing lost or damaged military equipment, including aircraft and drones. The total U.S. spending on the Middle East conflict has risen to $37.5 billion, reflecting a nearly $10 billion increase. The war, initiated on February 28 by a U.S.-Israeli coalition against Iran, has further destabilized the region and impacted global energy markets, particularly after Iran blocked the Strait of Hormuz. These rising costs come just before the U.S. midterm elections, posing political challenges for Republicans and President Trump.
