Nearly two thousand Hungarian solar devices are available unprotected on the internet
A significant number of Hungarian solar energy devices are exposed online, with at least 1916 identified as vulnerable. Cybersecurity expert Tamás Kocsis highlighted the risks associated with these devices, many of which are from a few major manufacturers. His research revealed that numerous devices lack proper security measures, making them accessible without authentication. The findings indicate a pressing need for improved cybersecurity protocols in the renewable energy sector to prevent potential system-wide threats. Kocsis emphasizes the importance of collaboration among energy sector representatives and government cybersecurity authorities to address these vulnerabilities effectively.
