Kremlin-seized German company Metro AG transfers 1 billion rubles to Russian military without approval

Metro AG's Russian subsidiary donated 1 billion rubles to support Russian military efforts without the parent company's consent. This donation occurred after the Kremlin took control of the subsidiary on September 28. Metro AG clarified that it had no operational control over the Russian entity and did not authorize the donation. The funds were directed to the "People's Front. All for Victory!" fund for military equipment. The Kremlin has been seizing foreign companies' assets, with other firms also contributing to similar funds after being placed under Russian management.
