'Critical' cyber risks discovered in widely used programming language PHP

The EU's cybersecurity agency CERT-EU has warned of two critical vulnerabilities in PHP, a widely used programming language. These vulnerabilities could lead to significant risks, as approximately 70% of websites rely on PHP. Ethical hacker Wouter van Dongen emphasized the potential for hackers to take control of affected sites or access sensitive data. Security updates are scheduled for later today, and organizations are advised to implement them immediately or take their sites offline. Cloudflare has reported the first attacks related to these vulnerabilities, prompting some organizations, including Notubiz, to temporarily disable their websites to protect sensitive information.
