Critical gaps, governments shut down sites. It's about more than two-thirds of the internet

On Wednesday, the PHP development team announced updates to fix two critical security vulnerabilities, urging administrators to install the patches immediately. PHP, a widely used programming language for web development, powers around 70% of websites that identify their server-side language, including WordPress, which runs about 43% of all websites. Cybercriminals are reportedly exploiting these vulnerabilities, prompting cybersecurity agencies in Europe, the US, Australia, and Japan to call for urgent updates. Some government agencies in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, and France have already taken measures, including shutting down their websites. The affected PHP versions range from PHP 5, but specific vulnerable versions have yet to be confirmed.
