The exhibitionist priest at the bus stop. The story of Jerzy M.
Polish bishops took over three years to establish a commission to investigate sexual abuse of minors by clergy. Journalists from "Rzeczpospolita" began examining this issue in 2021 using state archives. A 1978 report revealed that a priest, Jerzy M., was suspected of exposing himself to schoolgirls, but no investigation was initiated. Despite earlier allegations of drugging a minor, no charges were filed. In 1981, further complaints led to a preliminary investigation, revealing multiple victims. Jerzy M. was eventually charged with offenses against seven minors and admitted to his actions, acknowledging his inappropriate sexual urges. The case highlights a dark chapter in the history of the Polish Church.
