Who is currently the president of the Constitutional Tribunal? The head of the NRA points to Bogdan Święczkowski
On Friday evening, a group of judges took control of the Constitutional Tribunal in Poland, led by Anna Korwin-Piotrowska. This action followed the exclusion of several judges appointed by the Sejm from participating in Tribunal activities. Korwin-Piotrowska announced a break in the Tribunal's operations, affecting both the president and vice-president. Legal experts are divided on the legitimacy of this decision, with concerns raised about the legal basis for the suspension. The president of the National Bar Council, Przemysław Rosati, emphasized that the current president remains Bogdan Święczkowski according to existing law. He also dismissed claims that the suspension was justified by a constitutional state of necessity, stating that public officials must act based on legal provisions.
