Who created the famous terracotta army? Fingerprints revealed the truth
Recent research reveals that the Terracotta Army was not solely created by adult men, as previously believed. Analysis of fingerprints on the figures indicates that women and children also contributed significantly to the production. Out of the analyzed fingerprints, approximately 45% belonged to men, nearly 33% to women, and 22% to children under 15. This challenges the long-held view that only adult males were involved in the craftsmanship during the Qin dynasty. The findings provide new insights into the social structure and labor organization in ancient China, although the study was limited to one pit, suggesting that results may not represent the entire workforce.
