Due to the discovery of remains in Postoloprty, the police have initiated criminal proceedings

The Office for Documentation and Investigation of Communist Crimes has initiated criminal proceedings following the discovery of human remains at a former barracks site in Postoloprty. The investigation is focused on potential murder charges under the old criminal code. The remains, found by construction workers in early October, include part of a limb, prompting a halt in construction for archaeological examination. Historically, the site is linked to the execution of interned civilians of German nationality by the Czechoslovak army in 1945, with estimates of victims ranging from 763 to over 2300. No confirmation has been made regarding the speculation of a mass grave.
