The National Court grants amnesty to the members of the CDR prosecuted for terrorism
The National Court has granted amnesty to twelve members of the CDR accused of terrorism, concluding the case due to the application of the Amnesty Law. This decision follows a ruling from the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) that supported the amnesty law. The court had previously suspended the case pending clarification from the CJEU regarding its compatibility with EU law. The CJEU confirmed that the amnesty law does not conflict with European interests and aims to promote reconciliation, thus allowing the court to dismiss the charges against the individuals involved in the 'procés'.
