The Prosecutor's Office files the complaint against Albiol for the eviction of the B9 institute in Badalona
The prosecution has dismissed a hate crime complaint against Badalona's mayor, Xavier García Albiol, related to the eviction of a former school housing immigrants. The eviction occurred on December 17, involving around 400 occupants and resulting in multiple arrests. The operation was requested by the Badalona City Council and authorized by a court ruling. Following the eviction, a complaint was filed by a Podemos MEP alleging several offenses, including hate crime. However, the prosecution concluded that the actions did not constitute a crime. Albiol is also under investigation for a separate incident involving derogatory comments about a robbery suspect.
