The Turkish mafia settles scores in Tarragona

A Turkish mafia leader, Mekin Büyükdeniz, was shot dead in his hospital bed at Joan XXIII in Tarragona. The assailant entered the hospital undetected and shot him three times in the head before escaping on a scooter. Büyükdeniz was previously targeted in a drive-by shooting and had been under police protection. He was linked to the 10 Kardeşler criminal organization, involved in drug trafficking and extortion, and had evaded capture in Turkey before being located in Catalonia.
