The Iryo train driver minutes before being run over by the AVE: "The train is not allowing me to perform the system, that's why I am stopped"
The Iryo train driver informed the control center about a signaling system reset, stating she was not ready to proceed. Despite this, the control center authorized another train to resume normal speed without acknowledging the reset status. The collision occurred between 8:48 and 8:53 AM, marking one of Spain's worst rail accidents near Urda. The AVE driver reported a transmission failure and received instructions to reconnect the system and proceed normally, despite uncertainties from the control center about the situation. The order was given at 08:36 AM, shortly before the crash.
