The loss of 'craft' of the Adif workforce in data: workers with less than 10 years in the company go from being 15% of the total to more than 50% in five years
The lack of experienced personnel at Adif's control centers has been highlighted following the Urda tragedy. Since 2021, Adif has undergone rapid staff renewal, raising concerns about the loss of expertise. An analysis shows that over 50% of the workforce now has less experience, a significant shift from previous years. In 2021, Adif initiated a generational replacement plan aiming to hire 6,000 professionals by 2026, responding to a high number of retirements. The company has seen a net increase in employees but a drastic decline in experienced workers, particularly among controllers. Additionally, there has been notable turnover in management, coinciding with political changes, leading to a record rotation rate of 5.83% in 2024.
