The Police definitively evicts the Sol camp in an intervention with two arrested for resistance and 334 expelled, mostly homeless.
The National Police and Municipal Police of Madrid evacuated the Sol camp early this morning, resulting in two arrests. A total of 334 individuals were removed, with 220 National Police and 180 Municipal Police involved. The operation lasted about 40 minutes and was followed by cleanup efforts. While police reported a peaceful eviction, camp representatives claimed it was violent, alleging injuries and the use of pepper spray. The government defended the eviction as a last resort after the protest lost its initial purpose and became a public order issue. Previous communications indicated attempts at mediation before the eviction took place.
