La Seu: the only work by Gaudí without "total freedom"
A research study revealed that Antoni Gaudí worked under liturgical criteria during his intervention at the Cathedral of Mallorca from 1904 to 1915. Mercè Gambús, an art history researcher, presented these findings, emphasizing that this was a departure from his previous artistic freedom in projects like the Sagrada Família. The study also calls for a chronological review of Gaudí's work at the cathedral beyond his departure in 1915, highlighting the significance of space and light in his designs. Rafel Morro will discuss archival documentation related to Gaudí's work, while Sebastián Escalas will explore the acoustic implications of Gaudí's designs, noting the historical importance of music in the cathedral's liturgical practices.
