"Lalka" is heading for a record. Already over two million viewers
Maciej Kawalski's film "Lalka" has attracted over two million viewers in its first three weeks, becoming the most-watched Polish film of 2026. It has surpassed previous leader "Piep*zyć Mickiewicza 3" and ranks second overall among all films, trailing only "Spider-Man: A Whole New Day." The film's success is attributed to a massive distribution campaign, with 682 copies released, the largest since 1989. Producer Radosław Drabik emphasized the goal of reaching every cinema in Poland, which has been achieved. "Lalka" premiered on September 30 and is expected to remain in theaters for the foreseeable future, with no streaming release planned soon.
