Users are shoveling money out of Binance after the restart
In a single day, users withdrew over $4.6 billion from Binance after the exchange resumed payments. This resulted in a net outflow of approximately $3.64 billion. The withdrawals followed a significant hack that saw $6.3 billion stolen, allegedly by North Korean hackers. Binance reported that the net outflow represented just over 2% of its total assets, valued at $171 billion. The company has replaced about 95% of the stolen assets and is committed to covering all losses related to the incident. Regulatory scrutiny in the cryptocurrency sector is expected to increase due to this event.
