French fair trade, a model increasingly deemed secure in the context of an agricultural crisis

Ludovic Brindejonc, director of Agri-Ethique, reports a surge in inquiries from farmers and producers seeking solutions amid an agricultural crisis. The fair trade label, which has seen a 23% sales increase in France, is gaining traction as a potential remedy. Despite representing only 2.3% of the food market, the number of fair trade products has significantly expanded from 3,500 to 13,500 since 2014. Upcoming contracts with the meat and dairy sectors are anticipated to further enhance its visibility.
